That's better!
According to the Evil GMs union you are supposed to put the evil laugh at the end of the announcement, but I'll just assume you were caught up in the moment in and let it go this time.
Try not to let it happen again, I'd hate to report you. The last GM who got reported was demoted to player status for a whole month!
The last time I ran a group in the Mirror Universe I only ran half of them, and got the other players to play their Mirror counterparts. It really throws the players when half or most of the group goes along with everything like it was normal.
I've only recently gotten to play in a Trek game, my first in many, many years. Back in the day, I was a little ambivalent about the Mirror episode we played in, but I had a marginal GM.
I'd really love to play in a well-adjudicated, well-handled Mirror episode, though. I think it would be an absolute blast.

Here's a bit of background info:
The Terran Empire is an analogue of the Federation. In this version of the Mirror Universe, it survived the reign of Emperor Spock, who had exiled Captain Kirk to Ceti Alpha V, which suffered the same fate as in the mainstream Trek universe. Kirk was rescued by Dr. Carol Marcus and subsequently assassinated Captain Clark Terrel. He then killed Spock and assumed the mantle of Emperor, taking the reign name of Emperor Tiberius I, after his illustrious ancestor. Emperor Tiberius was killed supervising the launch of the ISS Enterprise-B in 2296, just 3 years after he conquered the Klingon Empire at the Battle of Khitomer, killing Chancellor Gorkon in single combat.
I think that resolves continuity as to why my Mirror differs from Sisko's...
The image I used for Emperor Tiberius is from the outtakes of ST: Generations. I edited out Scotty's shoulder and put in the Imperial symbol. The reentry suit looks like ceremonial armour, and the image gets Kirk's age right.

What I think really made it fun the last time I ran one was that I had prepped half the group ahead of time. They all loved being "in" on the secret and really put thier all into helping redesign thier own characters.
One on my favorite bits was that one of the characters had a crush on another character, but was too shy to make a move-in the real universe.
In the Mirror Universe, he goes to his quarters, trying to get a moment to figure things out, and she pops out of his sonic shower. It was better than anything I could have thought up.

Ave Imperator!
I think it is awlays best to make you own Mirror Universes. A good deal of the fun of such things is seeing the differences between the Mirror and the Original. If you use the "standard" mirror most players will already know something about the Mirror and the story will lose some impact.
Make your own Miror and players get to discover their own Universe.
Plus with your own Mirror, you have carte blanche over what you do. You don't need to worry about repercussions as much, as it is a separate universe. That opens the door up for some "all or nothing" adventures that most GMs wouldn't want to risk in the "real" universe.
I've just posted a short chronology of the Terran Empire at http://coldnorth.com/owen/game/start...ror/mirror.htm - Scroll down to the bottom, click the link and Enjoy! I've only filled in the very broad strokes, much as they did in the shows. You can imagine what's behind each entry...
Nice work Owen. I like how the events in the main universe are, well, mirrored
If I can just point out what I think is a little typo, the year 2252 entry should read "... under Captain Christopher Pike", not Kirk, unless I'm missing another subtle reference.![]()

Yep, you're right. I wish I could blame it on the stroke, but I did that sort of thing before, too. I guess it comes with being a self-taught two-finger hunt'n'peck typist.
Oh, well... And now for something not-quite completely different:
The Chronology of my Mirror Star Wars universe:
http://coldnorth.com/owen/game/start...sun/chrono.htm
Well, we had a satisfying, if odd session today. The crew were still in the Mirror-Star Wars universe effecting repairs to thei Silver Ball Generator (dimension hopping device) when the Death Star showed up, accompanied by a Defiant class crewed by their mirror doubles. They had a Refir Constitution with a skeleton crew. The Defiant took them on and it was a mini-furball. What managed to turn the tide in their favour was the fact that they has a dozen quantum torpedoes while the Defiant only had photorps. They were in an Ion storm, so neither had shields and transporters were touchy. They managed to stun half the Defiant's crew, and tried to beam a torpedo into the Defiant's bridge. The transporter hiccupped and it materialised in the messhall and blew the "war-head" off the Defiant. The managed to take out their warp power, starting a core meltdown, so they had to eject the core. There they are in a disabled ship with a stunned enemy, so they beamed over into the Defiant Engineering and set off the neurazine gas, thus taking the ship. They incarcerated the Defiant's crew in the Excalibur's brig and wound up impersonating their doubles at dinner with the Mirror Star Wars Emperor. They decided to close the wormhole between the two Mirors by lobbing in a few quantum torps, then beat it out of there with the Silver Ball. after a trip into the Red Dwarf universe, they got homr, where the Defiant was fixed up and assigned to them. As I said, an odd day. When they got back to theFederation, the events of Nemesis had happened, so the Romulan Star Empire is very unstable. I intend to have Sela show up again and pull a power play...
How did their time spent near Red Dwarf turn out? any signs of smoking hot Kochanski?
