    Post The Gates of Sto-vo-Kor

The campaign I am running (see the HEEEEEEELLLLPPPP!!!! topic elsewhere) is set in a distant sector, okay it's on the far side of the Klingon Empire. Five years after the Dominion War, the Federation was allowed a single outpost in this one sector.

This shouldn't be too much of a stretch, howevere I have placed on the capital world of this sector a semi religious artifact known as, The Gates of Sto-vo-Kor.

The origins of this artifact is based on something Warf said in DS9. "We killed our gods," or something to that effect. Well, the gods must have died (at least a few anyway) in honorable combat, making them eligible for passage into Sto-vo-Kor. Since the gods are not allowed back into the universe, and they being gods could come and go as they please, the Klingon Empire setup a post on "this point of light" to be a guarded gate against the return of the gods.

The Klingons sent to this post are part of a noble honor guard, highly skilled in combat and Klingon theology (gee, a Klingon paladin?).

Already thought of that. But I can't tell you what it really is until the pc's get there. After all, Flamestrike is in the game.

Speaking as someone with a Klingon alter-ego, consider this idea appropriated IN THE NAME OF THE EMPIRE!

    Oh Karg!!!!

That is an EXCELLENT thought. I had been toying with it, but didn't even consider the Iconian war mongering that went on. I have enough ideas further based on this that it will make DS9 quake in ph33r at its l33tness.

So I am thinking it will be a joint UFP/Klingon arch team that goes missing and the players are called in to find out what happened

I Havn't read them yet but the current set of books coming out from Pocket is the Gateway series which deals with the Iconian Gateways, Might be a good source of info/ideas

I just started reading the first one. They show promise. It might even be worth writing an adventure that plays out as part of the Gateways Crisis, assuming you consider the novels part of your campaign's 'canon'.
